Our Approach to Therapy
Your challenges are unique. But when we partner with you, we’re looking for one thing: your true self. We want to help you shed the shackles of a life informed by the accumulation of your wounds, or guided by the expectations of others and who you thought you should be.
We have big aspirations for your life. And together, we’ll take small steps to help you get there.
Individual, Couples & Family Therapy
We provide individual, family and couples therapy. Our therapists are trained in the following modalities:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Psychodynamic psychotherapy
- Gestalt Therapy
- Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
- Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)
- Sensorimotor psychotherapy
- Meditation and Mindfulness Practices
- Internal Family Systems (IFS)
- Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
The above list is always evolving. At Erika Malm Collective, we understand there are many ways to heal. One size does not fit all. We stay abreast of current research, and are constantly educating ourselves in new treatments methods. At the same time, we’re less attached to the intervention than we are to understanding your treatment objectives and offering possible pathways to help you achieve your goals.

Psychedelic Integration Therapy
Mystical experiences, in some cases brought on by the use of psychedelics, may be part of your healing process.
Our therapists entertain the possibility that consciousness is not derived from our brains, but may be a part of something bigger.
Mystical experiences come in many forms, and can be experienced as both positive and negative. While psychedelic experiences in themselves are powerful, they can remain dream-like if left unintegrated. We’re here to help you to integrate this new experience into your everyday life, further tuning into your authentic self. You may want to make important shifts in your life based on this deeper knowledge. We can help you do this.
Additionally, if you’re wondering if psychedelics may be right for you, we can provide an assessment and education about the risks and benefits, and will support you in making an informed decision.
DISCLAIMER: Psychedelic substances are powerful and have the potential to cause severe psychological harm. They may worsen mental and emotional disorders, and their use may result in undesired and persistent consequences. Their use with assistance by healthcare professionals trained in psychedelic assisted therapy is experimental. We do not endorse the use of psychedelic substances outside of an approved healthcare setting. We do not support or promote the buying, selling or use of any illegal substances.
EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
The body’s natural inclination is mental and physical health. When we experience a trauma, our ability to fully heal is disrupted. This leaves parts of us stuck in the past, and impedes our well being in the present. EMDR offers a targeted treatment protocol to help unblock the body and allow healing to resume.
Through a time-limited EMDR intervention, clients can resolve, and get relief from, an individual trauma.
We offer EMDR as an adjunctive treatment, as part of more comprehensive therapy, or as a stand-alone short-term treatment (as well as in collaboration with your primary therapist).
Eating Disorder Treatment
Eating Disorder treatment at Erika Malm Collective is anchored in an Intuitive Eating and Health At Every Size philosophy. At the start of, and over the course of treatment, we will assess the need for multidisciplinary referrals and collaborate with you and your team. We incorporate mindfulness, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and IFS(Internal Family Systems) into our work while individualizing our approach to best meet your unique needs.
You might feel stuck in your relationship with food and your body, like there isn’t room for much else. Living with an eating disorder can feel like you’ve lost your voice, like you’re disconnected from your deepest values and desires. And yet it’s often the only way you know how to cope
We’ll dive into your relationship with food and your body, and the roles they play in your life. We’ll offer up new coping strategies to help you move into feelings, and attune to the signals of your body. Underneath your Eating Disorder there are parts of you waiting to be known, heard, and understood. We’re eager to partner with you to rediscover and reconnect with what makes you, you.
