We are committed to doing the work of antiracism.
While no response can meet the trauma and grief that black and brown people have endured for generations, we are committed to listening deeply, learning, and taking meaningful and purposeful action.
When any of our community suffers, none of us can fully heal.
As therapists, we are keenly aware of the process of healing trauma and our interdependence with one another. We know we have a long way to go to become true allies. This is a work in progress, and the steps we take will be imperfect.
- As a team, we read and workshopped Resmaa Menakem’s Cultural Somatics Course in Racialized Trauma, to understand and begin to heal the historical racialized trauma we all hold in our bodies.
- Currently we’re reading and workshopping Layla F. Saad’s book, Me and White Supremacy, learning how to take ownership in our participation in the system of white supremacy.
We will continue to update this page with actionable steps we’re taking. We welcome our community to hold us accountable.
